Default Lagoon Bash

OK by popular demand lets try to do an ECC Lagoon Bash. Anyone with good ideas for how they think the event should go please post them.

Anyone have any special date or day in Febuary 20-21 weekend mabye? I think the shuttle goes up on Febuary 07, 2010 at 04:39.

Does everyone want to do the camping thing or a one day thing?

If we decide to do a one day Bash and if anyone from out of town wants to come to the bash I am sure Nate, or some of the other forum members who live over that way can recommend some good places to stay. Or if you wanted to camp I am sure we can hook you up with the info on the camping in the lagoon too.

When: TBD

Where: Mosquito Lagoon

You will more than likely need one of these permits if you already do not have one here is the link.

I attempted to put a poll in for what type of event everyone wants to have...not sure if it will work but I gave it a try.

One day event.
CPR tournament
...biggest red, biggest trout, biggest snook, biggest drum

Launch at Riverbreeze or Haulover

Will do my best to attend, can't guarantee. Would like to have my Vantage by then.

If you guys camp or not, I would like to make it down that way on one of the days you guys plan on fishing. Keep us posted on confirmed dates. I would most likely drive down the evening before so lodging and ramp locations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

why not do both...have a tourney with a party at the designated island/campsite. those who cant stay overnight can leave after weigh-in.

I would make the short trip to get outta this blistering cold here. I can bring a few oyster cookers

Thats a great idea. It would sick to have the weigh-in on an island and I don't think it would be to much extra work to set up.

I am in... one or two days, doesn't matter to me. Like the idea of using River Breeze over Haulover... better parking and facilities.

Trapper check this out

I stayed on number 12 which was a pretty sizable island and I know there are even bigger ones.

I agree with the idea of doing both. For those who want to camp, they could coordinate among each other. For those who can't or don't want to camp, they could still participate in the gathering.

To accomodate non campers, I think it would be important to have the weigh in or gathering on one of the islands in mid to late afternoon to allow daily fisherman a chance to get back to the ramp during daylight hours. In other words, meet at island #xxx at 3pm for meet/greet/weigh-in.

Just my two cents. I would likely participate for the day but not camp.

Really unfamiliar with the lagoon, but I love to fish it. I would like to be a part of the festivities if I'm able. The only launch I've used is Biolab. Would this ramp be close enough to the location you guys are thinking about? Like I said I'm not really familiar with the area so I would like avoid a long run. Again Thanks
